Jamiyandagva Ballet Foundation honors the legacy of Jamiyandagva, extending his impactful contributions he has done in art and culture of Mongolia.
The challenge in our identity design project was to capture the essence of Jamiyandagva's bold and disciplined personality in ballet teaching, while also conveying the soft, elegant, and flexible emotions that ballet brings to society. It was vital to ensure that the foundation, built in memoir of Jamiyandagva, reflected his impactful presence in the identity. Additionally, the identity needed to portray the unique blend of European and Mongolian ballet culture that Jamiyandagva had masterfully combined, elevating the industry during his lifetime.
The logo's wordmark achieves a balance, utilizing a custom-drawn uppercase typeface for bold strength, reflecting Jamiyandagva's talent, and a handwritten, precise typeface for added softness. The logo is designed in both Mongolian and English, ensuring accessibility for both local and international audiences.
The logo symbol harmonizes European and Mongolian influences, incorporating a European theatre column and the distinctive pattern of a Mongolian yurta's door.
The brand illustrations feature a deliberate style, showcasing sketchy, brush-drawn ballet dancers and Jamiyandagva himself. This intentional choice aims to evoke the fluidity and flexibility inherent in ballet, adding a dynamic and artistic touch to the brand identity.
